BREAKING : Contact Tracking Takes Off in Ontario With Dire Implications

By Phil Anders for theWedge.LIVE

The coronavirus which caused much stress to Canadians and their economy is now a threat on its way out. The much touted curve is flat.

In the most untimely manner masks are now imposed. There are reports of goggles next.

As the world reportedly is witnessing the end of the pandemic able to return to a modicom of normalcy, political leaders begin to impose contact tracing of “potential risks.”

They call it a Covid Alert app and not the offensive “contact tracing.” But, tracking it is.

And it starts in Canada today in the Province of Ontario.

Mobile device users are encouraged by the Ontario government to download the app from the Apple or Google Play app stores.

Stop right there.

This alert is based on testing which has proven to be so flawed that in some regions it delivers up to 100% false positives. Effectively, the whole population will be suspected if only a few download the app by virtue of six foot proximity to a person that “may have tested positive” with no symptoms. This unwitting individual could implicate hundreds by proximity, forcing them into unreliable testing and quarantines.

Where there is smoke there is fire.

Only a limited few, the “nervous Nellies” among us need download the app to implicate the many until no one is safe from this marauder of civil liberties.

This is an app and a government incitement that abrogates Canadian constitutional rights and freedoms.

The only means left to be free of this Orwellian regulation is to remove your sim card from your phone as you travel by foot or by vehicle.

Make no mistake Premier Doug Ford is fully endorsing this process.

The Ontario government is encouraging everyone to download the new COVID Alert app on their smart phone from the Apple and Google Play app stores. This app, which is available beginning today, lets users know if they may have been exposed to the virus. It is free, easy and safe to use.

The government promised privacy but this is a contradiction to the functionality of the app. Your rights are removed the moment you are suspected of “potential exposure.” You lose your freedom of movement based on a suspicion and an unreliable process.

If you have had a flu shot in the last ten years you will likely test positive. If you have antibodies you will likely test positive. The inventor of the test who passed in 2019 was clear that the test was not to be used for infectious diseases. Yet these factors are ignored by a standard of care we cannot reconcile.

Fear will drive adoption. The government and paid media will fuel this fear unless a constitutional challenge is initiated.

Make no mistake Ontarians now cross the rubicon into totalitarianism.

“This important, made-in-Ontario COVID Alert app will be a critical part of our case and contact management strategy as more regions in Ontario enter Stage 3 today,” said Premier Doug Ford.

“This innovative tool was developed by some of the best and brightest minds in our province, working in partnership with Ottawa (emphasis ours). As businesses open their doors and schools prepare for September, we need to help stop the spread and keep others safe by downloading this COVID Alert app.”

In their own words:

The COVID Alert app uses Bluetooth technology to detect when users are near each other. If a user tests positive for COVID-19, they can choose to let other users know without sharing any personal information. Ontarians who receive an exposure alert can then get tested and take action to help keep themselves, their families, and their friends from spreading COVID-19 throughout the community. The app does not collect personal information or health data, and does not know or track the location, name, address, or contacts of any user.

People will become increasingly distanced from each other, increasingly cloistered and reticent to leave home and enjoy life in the outdoors. Make not mistake, this is a psychological lockdown–all under the guise of protection at a time when the virus has virtually dissipated into numbers lower than the common flu.

Words of great concern echoes tenets of a police state:

The app supports the efforts of public health units, allowing the province to quickly test, trace and isolate cases of COVID-19 to stop the spread of the virus and prepare for any potential outbreaks ― without sharing any personal information.

If an app user receives a message from COVID Alert that they may have been exposed to the virus, they should follow the public health advice given on the app and get tested. To notify other people if an app user has tested positive for COVID-19, they can enter their one-time key from Ontario’s test results website ( into the app. A message will then be sent to other app users who have been within two metres of them for at least 15 minutes within the past 14 days, without sending any information that identifies the user, or the time and place of exposure.

It is ostensibly a dragnet. And in of itself is alarming.

The only way out is to remove your sim card from your phone even if you do not have the app. Or just toss it. Exercise your rights. Your phone is not an ankle bracelet.

Many Canadians still do not own or use a mobile device. These will never be caught in this web of unwarranted surveillance.

The Government of Canada is also working with the other provinces and territories to get their jurisdictions on board with the app in the coming weeks and months.
